Job Summary:

The ideal candidate for the role of Frontend Web Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and debugging responsive web and mobile applications for the agency. Using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, this candidate will be able to translate user and business needs into functional frontend design. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Determine the structure and design of web pages
  • Develop features to enhance user experience

  • Utilize a variety of markup languages to write web pages
  • Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs

Requirements 

  • Degree in computer science or related field
  • Proven work experience as a front-end developer (3 years minimum)
  • Understanding of key design principles
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery
  • Understanding of server-side CSS, such as LESS and SASS 
  • Experience with graphic design applications, such as Adobe Photoshop or XD
  • Familiarity with browser testing and debugging
  • Understanding of SEO principles
  • Good problem-solving skills

Benchworks, a marketing agency that integrates expert thinking across disciplines to lead life science and pharmaceutical brands forward, is looking for a talented Studio Graphic Designer/Production Artist to join our team. Applicants should be detail-oriented creators with a strong sense of design and mechanical production. This position is best suited for designers with 3+ years of agency or studio experience who want to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment with great people in a rapidly growing organization.

The Studio Graphic Designer/Production Artist is focused on advancing customer engagements through design. This position should have comfort working across both print and digital channels–and demonstrate strong design, typographic, and mechanical production skills.

Candidates must be able to manage multiple projects and will work closely with the studio and creative teams to develop and execute work based on creative direction and under the supervision of the studio manager.

This position allows for the flexibility to work in-office or mostly remote. We would prefer a candidate who is within reasonable commuting distance to one of our offices if needed for client meetings or company functions. A fully remote position may be available for the ideal candidate.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create, update, and resize materials, for both print and digital work including emails, websites, banner ads, print ads, brochures, social posts, and other promotional collateral
  • Provide support to the creative team to implement client and editorial changes to existing layouts
  • Assist other team members during tight deadlines to help finalize projects, ensure press readiness and resolve artwork issues that may arise, as needed
  • Create compelling slides and infographics in PowerPoint for client and agency presentations
  • Perform audits of existing print or digital pieces to ensure consistent branding and assets
  • Participate in meetings and occasionally present work to clients and internal account teams
  • Nimbly switch gears in order to complete multiple jobs throughout the workday 
  • Work collaboratively with other teams to ensure that projects are completed on set timelines 
  • Maintain a positive, proactive attitude 
  • Prepare and release both print and digital files (ie, brochures, posters, direct mailers, web banners, digital PDFs, emails).  Print layouts must be transferred to mechanical layouts (dielines).  Digital pieces must adhere to industry standards or provided vendor specifications.
  • Self-manage multiple projects to meet aesthetic, technical, and revenue goals, while collaborating with cross-functional team to manage timelines, workload, and processes

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BFA in Graphic Design (or equivalent experience)
  • 3+ years of experience (agency environment, or design studio preferred; pharmaceutical marketing experience is ideal)
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, XD, and Photoshop), Sketch, and Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, possibly Excel)
  • High level of design competency in the areas of layout/composition
  • Thorough understanding of both print and digital production processes
  • Familiarity with print production techniques and trends
  • Detail-oriented and deadline-driven with strong prioritization and time management skills
  • Ability to perform in a busy team environment and adhere to tight project timelines
  • Strong communication skills, including ability to effectively collaborate with diverse cross-functional teams

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Video or motion graphic skills (After Effects, Adobe Premiere, or other)
  • Basic HTML/CSS knowledge for front-end web development

The Sr Manager functions as a key member of the agency core team and works closely with the creative team and the client on assigned brand(s) to ensure all feedback is actionable and on strategy. This position requires someone who can identify and facilitate implementation of new services or service enhancements as well as manage relationships with cross-functional internal partners, external customer leaders, stakeholders, and subject matter experts.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 yr. experience in client management either at a pharma/biotech agency or in-house marketing department; prefer experience working with rare disease brands
  • BA or BS (preferred in Marketing, Communications, or Science)
