Our organization’s Mid-level Strategist will be responsible for the planning and invention of marketing solutions for Benchworks clients. This role requires an understanding of digital & traditional channels, technology, and how these disciplines affect marketing within the life science and healthcare industry. Primary responsibilities require having a point of view on digital and traditional communications with the ability to guide a multi-disciplinary team on how audience segmentation, digital trends, and data-driven insights, affect strategic choices.

This individual should combine an ability to analyze business objectives, the market landscape, and the competitive landscape to develop measurable strategies that improve the customer experience and drive business results.

Ideal candidates must have agency experience, a background in marketing, and a solid understanding of how multichannel tactics are integrated and optimized. Additionally, the candidate should also have pharmaceutical experience and be familiar with consumer and HCP behavior.



  • Partner with creative and account teams to support the design of marketing programs for healthcare and pharmaceutical brands
  • Research and gather insights on the consumer, competitor, and market landscapes and translate these insights into a strategic recommendation
  • Provide the strategic vision for integrated communications for a group of assigned accounts and brands within those accounts
  • Analyze program metrics and develop strategic recommendations for optimization
  • Identify emerging trends, platforms, and channels that are relevant for agency clients
  • Support a project from conception to launch working with internal account teams and external partners including third party vendors.
  • Develop and maintain internal team & client relationships that foster accountability, trust, and collaboration



  • BS or equivalent degree in marketing, communications, or similar level of education
  • 3-5 years of pharmaceutical experience

Benchworks, an agency that integrates expert thinking across disciplines to lead life science brands forward, is looking for a Digital Project Manager (DPM) to join our team.  The DPM is responsible for managing and delivering a variety of digital projects on time and on budget.  The DPM role involves managing all aspects of the development life cycle, including strategy & planning, development, testing, training, implementation and support of IT systems. The DPM will need to collaborate in a fast paced and exciting environment with other disciplines such as copywriters, designers, project managers and account teammates. DPM is responsible for the timeline and budget of each assigned project and progress reports and status to team members.

The Digital Project Manager must be an experienced team member who has a solid understanding of project management principles and robust digital project experience.


  • Serves as technical producer for a variety of digital projects including but not limited to e-mail programs, banners and website development in a variety of programming languages
  • Manages the relationship with internal staff, freelancers and vendors, including designers, web programmers, and Flash developers on identified projects
  • Provides account team with input and updates on project scope, schedules, status, internal resource needs and vendor pricing for identified projects
  • Works closely with the Creative department to ensure creative execution aligns with specifications for programming and technical requirements
  • Manages assigned digital projects from start to finish with a focus on best practices, efficiency, quality and budget
  • Educates other departments on digital project best practices and project plan rationale
  • Participates in client discussions and meetings
  • Proactively identifies and recommends improvements in digital practices and delivery processes
  • Work with team members to manage QA process
  • Manage projects successfully across various team disciplines and workstreams
  • Ensure that projects are properly scoped and hand off is seamless to design and development teams
  • Proficiency working in and managing agile and scrum teams

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent relevant experience required
  • 3 to 5 years of project management and digital marketing experience
  • Strong knowledge of digital best practices as it relates to e-mail, e-commerce and web-based marketing
  • Experience managing digital projects such as: landing pages, banners, surveys, social media marketing and web development
  • A strong understanding of project management concepts
  • Ability to manage multiple, concurrent projects
  • Knowledge of web development process, especially design and production processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Visio, Word, Excel, etc.

This is a perfect position for a self-starter with pharma/biotech agency experience who wants to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment with great people in a rapidly growing organization.

In this position you will partner with your cross-functional team to work hands-on and oversee AOR business, including several launches, and to help build a nimble, enterprising and strategic creative team. The ACD should be ready to take on some day-to-day assignments while managing copywriters, presenting to clients, and contributing to the overall creative output of the agency.

This individual should have comfort working across platforms – and demonstrate strong conceptual thinking, presentation skills, and a desire to problem-solve. Digital experience should stretch beyond writing a manuscript for a website to content strategy, social media, and understanding of how technology can improve and enhance the customer experience.



Responsibilities include creative concepting, strategic copy support for brand planning and development, writing copy for a range of brand assets, and managing copywriters, including freelance resources.

Benchworks is a full-service advertising agency with offices in Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Massachusetts.  The Account Supervisor’s primary responsibility is to manage and supervise Benchworks client accounts as an extension of the agency’s leader’s scope of direction.  In addition, the account supervisor must demonstrate a commitment and ability to increase technical skills, manage and develop staff, monitor, and control budgets, and cultivate new client opportunities through new business efforts.



Client Relations:

  • Formulate (in conjunction with leadership team), long-term strategies and programs to position clients in a leadership role.
  • Prepare and review all programs, plans, proposals and other major written materials before they are submitted for review
  • Develop innovative programs for clients and expand the existing programs
  • Stay current on client industries through attendance at key functions – trade shows, special events, sales meetings, etc.
  • Create original materials such as features, backgrounders, client briefing papers and industry analysis papers
  • Act as senior leadership liaison with client and maintain two-way communications
  • Engage client in routine communication to anticipate potential problems before they become issues
  • Ensure activities on behalf of clients are executed within budget estimates
  • Manage and facilitate high-level media placements, marketing programs or social media campaigns
  • Develop social contact with client personnel to strengthen the client relationship
  • Obtain thorough knowledge of client’s business and industry and stay current on trade and business media

Account Service:

  • Manage overall budgeting responsibility for account service
  • Make sure account executives and staff attain high levels of billability
  • Search for opportunities to develop additional business from existing clients as well as attract new clients
  • Write proposals for new business presentations
  • Constantly review the activities of the account executives and other staff for performance, productivity, and development
  • Develop a spirit of teamwork and high morale among people working under your direction

  • Establish sound start-up procedures for each client
  • Participate in fee negotiation, billing and collections, and client relations
  • Help to achieve profitability goals based on budgeted expectations

Staff Development:

  • Schedule staff workloads to maintain agency-established standards for billable hours and staff utilization rates and minimize staff overtime and downtime
  • Train staff through direct supervision of client engagements and review of the work they perform
  • Provide regular and direct feedback to staff regarding their performance to promote morale and enthusiasm
  • Communicate with the Director or Vice President on a regular basis about individual staff performance
  • Conduct effective and timely staff evaluations at the conclusion of projects and participate in semi-annual evaluation and career counseling sessions, and annual goal setting and planning as requested by the Director or Vice President

Agency Development:

  • Demonstrate the ability to market and sell agency services, and develop a thorough understanding of the services offered by Benchworks
  • Identify marketing opportunities created through business and social contacts and participation in industry and civic organizations
  • Expand services provided to existing clients by identifying client needs and gaining client confidence
  • Participate in new business development by assisting Directors and Vice Presidents with new proposal and deck creation as well as presenting to the potential new client
  • Lead RFP responses and pitch presentations for prospective clients

Personal Development:

  • Develop trust and respect from clients, Directors, Vice Presidents and colleagues by demonstrating sound business judgment, effective administrative skills and strong interpersonal skills

Benchworks is a full-service advertising agency with offices in Chestertown, Maryland and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. We are seeking an Account Coordinator to support our busy Account team.

The candidate will offer a passion for creativity and imagination while exhibiting a commitment to process and organization.  The individual will demonstrate excellent communication and relationship building skills with an ability to contribute to the execution of creative campaigns for our clients.  As an Account Coordinator, you will assist in Account team responsibilities to promote products and services for clients.  You will provide administrative support to the Account Team by preparing reports, handling information requests, and performing clerical functions.  You will also assist in researching new clients, competitors and methods of marketing and distribution.
